How to Use GPS Signals to Gather Accurate Weather Forecasts?

(Shenzhen, China) – As the extensive application of GPS technology, GPS now is not just confined within simple navigation or position. Lately, Planetio announced a new method of weather data collection which will adopt a new instrument to track GPS signals collected from the atmosphere, and analyze its behavior and movement to give more accurate and scientific weather forecasts.
This kind of new method employed a constellation of microsatellites and weather monitoring technology. Meanwhile, GPS Radio Occultation is used in this method to measuring global temperature, pressure and water vapor via the tracked and converted GPS signals.
This new constellation equipped with 12 satellites and with the assistance of GPS technology 8 million observations data will be integrated which equates to more than 10 times the amount of data to the previous GPS-RO sensors in orbit could produce.
With the feature of highly accurate and precise data sources, this new GPS technology is able to effectively predict the latest weather changes and high-impact weather such as hurricanes and snow storms. Insensitive sensor function ensures that it can reach to the bottom of the atmosphere in which occurring the most severe and various weather phenomenons through multi-layers cloud.
Concluded from what PanetiQ Founder Chris McCormick said, maybe the so called technology GPS-RO is not as perfect as expected while with high speed of innovation in GPS and sensor technology, space hardware and launch, the weather forecast will dramatically change for the better in the near future.
What’s more, Meitrack will always be the one and will actively devote itself to the development of GPS and IoT.
